Space Portal Actuator Button
A "Stargate" is a portal that opens a wormhole in space allowing for near instantaneous travel between distant locations in deep space. This is the only way to traverse distances that are measured in light years. A light year is the distance that something could travel in an Earth year at the speed of light. The speed of light is one hundred and eighty-six thousand miles per second. Sixty seconds in a minute, sixty minutes in an hour, twenty for hours in a day, three hundred and sixty-five days in a year. Thus, light travels 5.88 trillion miles in a year. The Worm Hole is opened when the “Actuator Button” is pressed and then - off ya go! Be careful pressing the Space Portal Actuator Button, hard telling where you might end up! Chances are good they will be hungry there.
Tiger’s Eye is a member of the Chalcedony mineral class family known for stunning chatoyancy manifesting as a silky, wavy shimmer across the stone. Tiger's Eye is a metamorphic rock that comes in shades of reddish brown with iron stripes.
Owyhee (pronounced Oh-WAH-hee) Picture Jasper comes from the Owyhee Mountain area in Oregon. Known for its rugged terrain and steep canyons, the Owyhee Mountains are a collection of peaks from the southwestern part of Idaho to the southeastern part of Oregon. The range contains 154 named mountains, the highest and most prominent of which is Hayden Peak (8,419ft).
Owyhee Picture Jasper is one of the very popular gemstone picture jaspers used for designer lapidary art pieces. It is known for its depictions of mountain or desert scenery. The more abstract slice of Owyhee Picture Jasper in this piece reminded me of some of the Hubble telescope images from deep space.
