This large Megalodon fossil tooth comes from the coast of South Carolina. It has a significant chunk missing from the root and one edge, but the remaining shape is well intact.
The otodus megalodon is an extinct species of shark that swam and lived in warm oceans globally, from the Miocene to Pliocene eras. The largest Megalodon tooth ever found has been just under 7 1/2 inches long!
