This Megalodon fossil tooth comes from the coast of South Carolina. The upper root is a very dark brown and textured, with the smoother tooth beneath. It has good serration along the edges, and a worn point at the tip of the crown.
The otodus megalodon is an extinct species of shark that swam and lived in warm oceans globally, from the Miocene to Pliocene eras. The largest Megalodon tooth ever found has been just under 7 1/2 inches long!
