This polished pair of Fishhook Thundereggs features reddish brown rhyolite with an agate filling in shades of translucent grey with areas of black and white banding. The agate center reacts strongly with UV light (picture shows the piece under 365nm).

Fishhook Thundereggs come from the Little Florida Mountains near Deming, New Mexico. These rhyolitic thundereggs can be partially hollow or completely filled. Quartz, calcite, chalcedony, and seams of faintly banded agate can all be found inside, along with yellow and red staining.
