The Gem Shop is open M-F 9:30am-6:00pm, Saturday 9:30am-5:00pm, and Sunday 1:00pm-5:00pm. This role typically fills afternoon shifts during the week, and some weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in opening and closing retail store
• Weekend Availability
• Deliver world class customer service
• Answer, direct calls, and take orders over the phone
• Assist with merchandising store displays
• Maintain store cleanliness and organization
• Create accurate receipts using QuickBooks
• Assist with preparation of merchandise for trade shows
• Collect, ship, and process mail, web, and phone orders in an accurate and efficient manner
• Create and Print Shipping labels using appropriate online applications

Qualifications and Skills

• at least 15 years old
• 1 year retail sales experience preferred
• Currently enrolled in high school or college preferred
• High-energy, friendly personality
• Capable of interpreting customers’ words and showing them products that meet their needs
• Basic addition, subtraction, & multiplication skills
• Willingness to become subject matter expert
• Detail-oriented & focused
  
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Publisher, Outlook, and Excel
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, twist, crouch, reach with hands and arms, climb, and balance
