This polished Laguna Lace Agate specimen shows quartz crystal and banded agate in translucent gray and yellow, white, pink, and red. The banding shows spots of parallax and one section has an open vug.

Laguna Lace Agate, often called Red Lace Agate, comes from northwestern Chihuahua, Mexico in a region known for lace agates. While red and white are prevalent colors, it also frequently shows yellow, orange, pink, or even blue or purple. Sections or bands of quartz are common in this vein agate, as well as intricate patterns as a result of tube formations or pseudomorphs of calcite crystals.
