These large Garnet crystals are from India. They are a rough, dark brown color with splashes of reddish pink and metallic mica inclusions possible. The chemical formula for garnet is Fe3Al2(SiO4)3. Though very hard, they can be cut or sliced to show more red inside.
Size ranges from 1 - 4 lb pieces, and are small fist to softball size.
