This Red Velvet Agate polished specimen features solid, brecciated, and moss patterning in different shades of red and golden brown in translucent agate, with a tiny open vug and matrix inclusions along one edge.

Red Velvet Agate comes from northern Mexico and typically shows translucent to white agate streaked with bright shades of red - like streaks of red velvet cake in white icing. It forms in veins and could also be called a jasp-agate as it combines translucent and opaque chalcedony. It can have feathery bands, brecciated patterning and moss agate, all in red hues from orange to 'fleshy' pinks or deep reds, or some golden yellows.
