This specimen has a natural back with an interesting polished face of overlapping scenic, brecciated, and dendritic patternings. It features golden tan, beige, dusty blue-green, and bits of black. There is one small section on the edge of the polish that is chipped, outlined in red in the second picture.

Owyhee Picture Jasper comes from eastern Oregon, in an area between Succor Creek and the Owyhee River that produces many different jaspers. It was among some of the now-famous jaspers that helped inspire and fuel the Picture Jasper Rush of the 60s and 70s, an integral part of rockhounding history in the United States.
