This material was mined in the late 90s from the Jake's Place claim, originally called Big Hole One. Morrisonite, or Morrison Ranch Jasper, comes from eastern Oregon in a region near the Owyhee River. This famous jasper can have egg or 'Bruneau' patterning, but typically shows streamers or other brecciated patterns. Inside a light tan rhyolite host, the jasper can be shades of deep green and blue, often with tans or golden yellows.
Size ranges from small pieces about 1/4lb to typical fist size pieces, and occasional larger material.
Rock pictured both wet and dry.
If you have a preference for material size or number of rocks you receive, please indicate in your order notes.
