Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral with beautiful bright and deep green colors with intricate banding and botryoidal patterns. It is commonly found with other copper related minerals, such as azurite or the bright turquoise chrysocolla. The chemical formula for malachite is Cu₂CO₃(OH)₂. The chemical formula for Chrysocolla is Cu₂H₂Si₂O₅(OH)₄.
