This Megalodon fossil tooth comes from the coast of South Carolina. The upper root is dark brown and textured, with the lighter, smoother tooth beneath. It has good serration along the edges, with a few small chips on either side.
The otodus megalodon is an extinct species of shark that swam and lived in warm oceans globally, from the Miocene to Pliocene eras. The largest Megalodon tooth ever found has been just under 7 1/2 inches long!
