Biggs Jasper is named after Biggs Junction, Oregon, where it was originally discovered. It typically has strong, intricate patterning in various shades of tan, brown, gray, black, and a distinct shade of brown tinged with blues and purples. It grew in popularity during the 70s, becoming highly sought-after along with the similar Deschutes Jasper. The original Biggs and Deschutes jasper locations are no longer able to be mined, but the nearby China Hollow and Beers Mountain have been able to produce material in more recent years.

Collector Cabochons: Once in a while we cut a stone which is a rare or exceptional example of the material it was cut from. Sometimes, the material is so scarce that any cabochon created is a collectible. We group these items here and call them "Collector Cabochons". They can be and are used for jewelry, but sometimes are just kept and displayed as they are.
