This Morrisonite, also called Morrison Ranch Jasper, polished cabochon features part of an egg pattern in dusty pink and khaki colored jasper, with very dark green and red at the top, and speckles of black dendrites.
There is a significant chip on the back, directly behind the top right of the cabochon as pictured. Some jewelry settings would cover this, but some would not.

Collector Cabochons: Once in a while we cut a stone which is a rare or exceptional example of the material it was cut from. We group these items here and call them "Collector Cabochons". They can be and are used for jewelry, but sometimes are just collected and kept as they are.
