Standup with a flat base. The front has polished sections of copper against oxidized green copper, and has been sealed to maintain the contrasting colors. This process of presentation is commonly referred to as "Butchite" in Michigan.

Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula is considered the most important locality in the world for pure native copper Mining began in 1845 and continued through 1982, and over 7 million tons of refined copper were recovered from the mines. Float Copper has been naturally tumbled and formed through glacial activity, naturally forming green oxidation. The chemical symbol for copper is Cu.
