Job Title: Bookkeeper
Work Time Expectation: Part-time 30 hours per week
Reports to: President - Veronica Woods
SUMMARY
The Bookkeeper is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business. This would include, but is not limited to, cash flow management among multiple bank accounts, controlling operating costs, statement preparation for accountant & overseeing accounts receivable/payable. This position also is responsible for maintaining corporate records, financial reports, maintaining mining records, maintaining business insurance accounts, and overseeing payroll processing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Cash Flow Management and Planning
Federal and state tax planning and reporting
Oversees payroll processing
Training employees on accounting software
Oversees Insurance accounts for the business
Prepares weekly, monthly, and year end financial reports with accountant
Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable
Obtains all certificates and licenses for the business
Controls operating costs
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
Must have excellent communication skills-oral and written
Must have excellent organizational skills
Ability to create, read, and understand financial reports
Mathematical understanding of accounting & business
Ability to work with computer software programs such as Quick Books, Word, Excel, UPS & USPS online shipping, Outlook & others
Ability and skill to keep the lines of communication open between all employees
Ability to integrate information to form projections & recommendations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
General office environment. Daily exposure to PC. Noise level can be high when the equipment in the lapidary is running. Employees are asked to do some heavy lifting. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to use hands or fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools and controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
