This Lake Superior Agate nodule is in its naturally found state, with a bit of mineral oil added to increase luster. It is red and gray with some pitting, and a fractured edge that reveals very tight agate banding in white, red, and brown. The fractured section is a nice opportunity for a face-polish or can be left as-is.

Lake Superior Agates, commonly called Lakers, most often come from Minnesota, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, or northwestern Wisconsin. Lakers are believed to be the oldest agates and are found already displaced and partially tumbled as the result of glacier movement through the Superior trough, disrupting the agate beds and transporting them for potentially thousands of miles.
