Fossil Hunt Contest Results

The Gem Shop's annual Fossil Hunt Contest has come to an end and we have a winner!  Ben Everts, a 4th grader, has won 1st place with his Trilobite Fossil found in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin  His fossil has multiple trilobites encased in a large piece of limestone.  The fossil is approximately 300 million years old!  We had many great entries from all over the country, which made the judging very tough.  We thank Gary Rosenberg from the Milwaukee Public Museum for assisting in the judging.  We hope all of the kids and their families enjoyed getting outside this summer and searching for fossils.  We thank all participants for their time and effort, and congratulate everyone on a job well done.  All of the winning fossils are on display in the store through the end of October.  Keep hunting for fossils for next year's contest!
